Andrew Galli is a producer of music, arts and crafts DVDs and short subject films for individual and corporate clients. Working with scholars and distributors in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia, Andrew is developing a catalog of films featuring world-class artists, musicians, craftsmen and authors of leading books on a variety of subjects.
In 2007 Andrew traveled with distinguished author and educator Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada to Arimatsu, Japan, to film the Quadricentenary Celebration (400 Years) of Shibori Textile Arts. His work in textile film production was recognized in the United Kingdom and he was invited to become the corporate video production supervisor for Creative Exhibitions, London, for a variety of trade shows in England and Italy, and continues in that role today. In 2009 he was awarded the production rights by the International Surface Design Association for their Bi-Annual Conference Educational Programs and Exhibition. He recently was awarded the 2011 production rights for the International Surface Design Association Conference at the Textile Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Presently Andrew is working on a series of textile-related DVDs as well as a wonderful musical portrait of Spanish virtuoso Flamenco Guitarist Paco Peña, available in the Fall of 2010. This follows on a recently released series of film clips and lectures produced by Studio Galli and renowned steel string guitar luthier, Ervin Somogyi, in 2009. Based in San Francisco and often in England for work these days, Andrew continues to expand his catalog of arts and crafts related DVDs available from fine art retailers, online shops and libraries in the USA and Canada. Titles continue to grow, reflecting traditional and contemporary trends in fine arts and crafts, music and creativity. Andrew is a graduate of the Music Study School of Saratoga, California, the University of California, Berkeley, Edinburgh University School of Law, the London Centre for Contemporary Music, and a member of ASCAP. |
